We are delighted to announce Dubai developer Nakheel has engaged NDY to undertake the building services engineering of the Nakheel Tall Tower, planned to be the first building in the world to exceed more than one kilometre in height and approximately 150m taller than the world’s current tallest building, the Burj Dubai.
The Tower is a mixed-use development incorporating offices, hotels and residences; designed by international architects Woods Bagot.
NDY will provide Mechanical, Electrical, Hydraulic, Fire and Communication services for the Tall Tower and has a peer review role for Lift Services.
Our Dubai project office is now open with 10 people working under the direction of Dennis O’Brien. The site project office is predicted to rapidly grow through 2009 as it gears up to handle the design development and documentation challenges.
George Balales will take over from Dennis O’Brien as Director responsible for the Dubai project office in January 2009. His role in Adelaide will be awarded to James Redwood who has been appointed to the position of NDY South Australian State Manager.
Winning this important and strategic project strengthens our international reputation as an innovative company at the forefront of engineering excellence. It also provides NDY with an excellent base in the Gulf Region as we also look to further expanding our presence in a variety of key sectors.
Our ultimate goal is to establish multidisciplinary offices in the region as part of our long term presence.
I am sure you will join us in wishing success to all staff involved in this exciting and challenging project.
Ian Hopkins CEO and Tony Lukic MD.
